Operating Engineers Top Hand Competition

The Top Hand Competition at the Operating Engineers’ Training Center will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. This event is open to the public and is a rare opportunity to see heavy equipment and cranes up close and personal. Highly skilled Operating Engineer Union operators will display their talents as they go head-to-head in a contest operating various types of equipment to be crowned the best of the best. During the event, there will be an opportunity for adults and kids to operate different excavators and cranes for themselves. A free lunch is provided, as well as other goodies and beverages. A cash bar will be on site to serve adult drinks. There is a separate kid area including: jumpy houses, hay hunt, balloon animals, pinatas, sandbox fun, hard hat decorating, crafts, and more. The Training Center has an extensive range of equipment and cranes at the 1600-acre facility located on Vantage Highway. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the Training Center and Apprenticeship Program. Come visit your neighborhood Training Center and watch us in action!
