Nonprofits throughout Upper Kittitas County are gathering to celebrate National Nonprofit Day on August 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cle Elum City Park. More than 15 local organizations have put together an interactive event to shine a spotlight on the important work of nonprofits and the volunteer opportunities available in Upper County.
The first 200 guests can enjoy a free lunch, live music in the park, and family-friendly activities. Community members who attend will also receive a punch card which when completed can be entered to win a $250 gift basket donated by the Roslyn Downtown Association.
“Our team of nonprofits has been working on this event for the past 6 months. We know how important collaboration and building community is in a rural area like ours, and we hope the community will come out and support this free and fun event,” says Lori Nevin, organizer and executive director Upper Kittitas County Senior Center.
