The City of Ellensburg is partnering with Waste Management to hold the second annual Ellensburg Recycling Event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the City Hall parking lot, located at 501 N. Anderson St. People can bring clean recyclables and learn about curbside service and local recycling drop-off locations. A new event addition is a paper shred—bring your unneeded confidential documents to be destroyed securely by Shred-It.
Event collection items include clean single-stream recyclables (plastic bottles and jugs, cardboard, paper, and food and beverage cans), professional clothing, small batteries, paper documents for shredding, bicycle tubes, and bicycles in any condition. Bicycle donations will be refurbished and given away at future community events.
Learn about curbside recycling, Ellensburg Glass Recycling, single-stream do’s and don’ts, composting, Repair Café, toner disposal, pesticide disposal, medication disposal, E-cycle WA (electronics), can crushing and lid removal, and where to recycle other items such as furniture, electronics, and yard waste (these items will not be accepted at the event, but informational booths will be on site to share more about where to take these items).
